He offers expert consultation on a wide range of issues related to public law, including administrative responsibility, public services, taxation, budget law, public finance, electoral law, civil service law, municipal law, laws regarding public property and public works, and public procurement. He also specializes in cross-border dispute resolution and advises on various legal issues and settlements related to administrative law, particularly in matters of contentious administrative proceedings, recourse for excess of power, recourse to full jurisdiction, administrative contracts, arbitration and public procurement law.
Well-versed in providing counsel in constitutional law, Dr. Akl also provides advice for appealing for the invalidation of legislative elections, seeking recourse against corruption and fraud, the application of the law of access to public information, and the management of the oil and gas industry in Lebanon.
Dr. Akl previously served as Director of the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences at the Lebanese University, Professor in Administrative and Constitutional Law, and Professor at the Academy of Command and Eta-major, Fouad Chehab Academy for Command and General Staff and the Military Faculty in the Lebanese Army. He is also the president of the French Association for Lebanon: Democracy, Development of Institutions and Consolidation of Rule of Law (AFPL), Paris-Beirut.
